Info
The hut is located next to the hiking trail, 2 km north-west of Lake Martimojärvi. The Koivuselkä wilderness hut was built in 1992 by Posio for log construction and then imported into its current location.
The nearby of the Koivuselkä wilderness hut lies Lauri’s fountain. Lauri’s fountain is found in the late 1940’s by Lauri Alakärppä. The fountain gives fresh spring water all year round. The water flowing from the spring does not freeze in the winter, and only in the dry summers the source can temporarily dry. Note that the spring water is not tested. The official recommendation is to boil the water.
